Bluesil

Bluesil is the dedicated trademark, created in 2011 by Elkem Silicones to replace the Rhodorsil brand. Bluesil is associated with a variety of silicone products, primarily used in industrial applications. These products are often developed for their versatility and effectiveness in a range of demanding environments. Bluesil products are used in a variety of applications such as electronics, automotive and consumer goods.

Bluesil Product Types

Silicone Elastomers

  • Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR): Used for injection molding applications. Known for its excellent thermal stability, chemical resistance, and durability.
  • High Consistency Rubber (HCR): Used in applications requiring high performance under stress, such as automotive and industrial components.

Silicone Fluids

  • Bluesil silicone fluids are especially suited for applications such as hydraulic and transformer oils, damping liquids, diffusion pump fluids, thermally resistant lubricants, dielectrics, defoamers, and release agents.

Silicone Gels

  • Used in electronics for encapsulation and protection of delicate components due to their cushioning and insulating properties.

Silicone Foams

  • Employed in sealing and gasketing applications where lightweight and flexible materials are needed.

Product Spotlight: Bluesil 141

Bluesil 141 is known for its clarity and strength, making it ideal for applications that require both visibility and protection. It comes supplied as a kit, as it is a two part room temperature vulcanising silicone elastomer. It cures at room temperature. This product was previously known as Rhodorsil RTV 141.
