Loctite offers a thread sealant suitable for any piping system. When sealing metal-to-metal pipe connections and fittings, Loctite anaerobic thread sealants are recommended, as they cure in the absence of air and upon contact with metals. For plastic-to-plastic or metal-to-plastic combinations, Loctite silicone thread sealants or Loctite 55 are the preferred choices.
Thread sealants are available in a variety of forms, from liquid to paste to solid. Each is suited to different applications. Liquids are ideal for flowing into gaps in threaded connections.
