In most applications it is essential to neutralise a component after electro-chemical marking. Neutralising can often enhance the mark as well as stabilising and removing any unwanted residues left from the process, which may cause corrosion or staining.

MN01 and MN02 neutralisers should be applied directly after marking. The component should firstly be dried with a CLEAN tissue, then the correct neutraliser for the electrolyte used (See electrolyte label or electrolyte product sheet) applied to a FRESH, CLEAN tissue and carefully wiped over the marked area and any part of the component where the electrolyte has come into contact. Finally wipe the neutralised area with a dry CLEAN tissue. MD1 de-watering oil can be used for further protection if required.
NEVER use a cloth to apply the neutraliser or dry the component after marking. Electrolyte picked up on the cloth can be re-deposited onto the component again causing corrosion or staining.
For immersion neutralisers, see product sheet for MN04.
