Product Information
This product is a manganese dioxide cured Permapol P-5 polysulfide compound. The uncured material is a low sag paste suitable for application by extrusion gun or spatula. The cured sealant is resistant to aircraft fuels, petroleum based oils and deterioration by intermittent exposure to diphosphate ester hydraulic fluids.
It has a service temperature range of -54°C (-65°F) to 121°C (250°F), with intermittent excursions up to 135°C (275°F).
This product may be used for aerodynamic smoothing or for sealing exterior butt joints, where a flexible elastomeric seal is required to prevent intrusion of moisture and provide protection from common causes of corrosion. It provides a weight saving of up to 40% over traditional sealants used for such purposes.
