Loctite Anaerobic Adhesives

Made commercially viable in 1953 by Connecticut chemist Professor Vernon K. Krieble, anaerobic adhesives are single-component bonding agents that cure in the absence of air and in the presence of metal ions. Commonly recognised by their traditional red bottles, these adhesives are widely used in applications such as threadlocking, retaining, gasketing, and sealing. While typically associated with red packaging, it’s worth noting that some acrylic adhesives also cure anaerobically. Their ability to harden only when air is excluded makes them especially effective in tightly fitted metal assemblies, offering strong, reliable bonds and resistance to vibration, corrosion, and leakage.
