Types of Aircraft Material Specialties
- Fuel additives boost the performance and stability of jet fuel and aviation gas.
- Catalysts help certain adhesives and resins cure faster so you can finish projects sooner.
- Lockwire is twisted around fasteners and hardware to keep them secure in extreme conditions.
- Glass bubbles are used to provide thermal insulation in tanks or added to certain fillers to reduce their weight.
- Anti-icing fluids remove ice build-up from the windshield, wings, ground equipment and tarmac for safe winter operations.
- Composites are combination materials that offer properties of each. These include polyurethane elastomer casting resins, fiberglass fabric rolls and nylon bagging film.
