Silicone Pigments
Why Add Pigment to Silicone?
These colouring agents offer functional and aesthetic benefits in aerospace and beyond. Pigmenting silicone lets you identify and inspect parts more easily, and it can complement existing component colours and tones. The ability to personalise colouring means a product that is more visually appealing and matches your brand. The highly concentrated nature of pigments makes them more cost-effective for opaque colours.
Pigments are formulated to work with tin or platinum catalysts, the two most common silicone RTV curing agents. They will not leach, and they resist fading. Add them to moulds, seals, covers, props, and other silicone products.
Create Silicone Hues
White and black are the main silicone colouring pigments available. Ask our support team if you need other colours such as blue and red. Pigment particles are typically added as 1-2% of a silicone system’s total weight. You can do less, but going higher can cause problems with curing.
Silmid representatives can answer questions about how to use pigments, take special requests, and provide bulk order quotes. Domestic orders over £50 qualify for free UK shipping, and we have expedited delivery and exporting options to satisfy everyone’s needs.
