Socomore Sealant Removal Chemicals

Socomore supplies customers with a sealant removal system designed for use with commercial, military, fixed and rotary aircraft. The system includes both chemical and mechanical solutions for the application and removal of sealants and adhesives.

They also have a range of aerospace grade wipes pre-saturated with aerospace approved cleaning solutions to clean and prepare surfaces before and after sealant applications. These solutions are suitable for use in both OEM and MRO operations, all of which are stocked by Silmid.

SkyRestore is a remover of cured and semi cured sealant that is effective on polysulphide, polythioether, silicones and RTV materials. SkyRestore is available in both a gel and a liquid form.

A safe alternative to Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) and Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA), SkyWash is a water based, non-hazardous cleaning liquid. This product is effective in removing wet and tacky polysulfides, polythioether, polyurethane, RTVs and silicone sealants as well as for tool cleaning.

Diestone DLS is a cleaning agent free from chlorinated hydrocarbons and carcinogenic components and is used effectively in the removal of excess quantities, marks and runs of jointing products, sealants and glues. Diestone DLS can be sprayed or brushed and is used without dilution.

A heavy duty, residue free higher flash point solvent based cleaner and degreaser, Diestone SR effectively removes semi-cured polysulphide sealants, RTV materials, Skydrol marks, stickers, tape and combustion residues from Aerospace OEM and MRO parts.

Sococlean Aquaforte is a water based cleaner designed to replace fast evaporating solvents such as Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) and Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA). This chemical can be used on metals, composites and plastic materials providing effective surface cleaning and degreasing in Aerospace manufacturing, fabrication and maintenance operations.

The majority of Socomore’s cleaning chemicals are available in both a bulk liquid and a pre-saturated wipe form. When picking a pre-saturated wipe product, it is important to consider the wiper material, the chemical impregnation and the pack size and wipe size required.
