Our storage facility includes both fridge and freezer storage for temperature-critical items. Freezing ensures that shelf life can be maximised, while fridge storage is used primarily for the correct storage of technical adhesive products.
Silmid continually invests in modern IT systems. With our paperless Warehouse Management System (WMS), we achieve incredibly accurate stock counts and exceptionally short order picking times, allowing us to fulfil web orders until 5:30pm.
Our state-of-the-art distribution centre in Coleshill was designed with efficiency in mind and uses high bay, narrow aisle pallet racking to maximise the available space. This capacity is utilised for both stock and contract customer storage requirements.
To maintain safety and protect product integrity, all chemicals in our warehouse are stored in carefully designated zones based on compatibility. This ensures that reactive or sensitive materials are never stored together, reducing the risk of contamination or degradation. By keeping products properly segregated, we can guarantee that every item leaving our facility maintains its quality and performance, giving our customers confidence in every order.
Our warehouse management system continuously monitors shelf-life data, tracking expiry dates in real time. Products nearing expiration are automatically flagged for customer review before shipment. This process ensures that only in-date, fully compliant materials are released for order, reducing the risk of unserviceable items entering the aerospace supply chain.
Our WMS systems and automation within our sales order processing system means that orders can be processed from website to despatch in under ten minutes. If the product is in stock it will ship on the date of order.
We can support same day delivery for key account customers within close proximity to our distribution centre. This service is especially valuable for AOG requirements from customers based at Birmingham International Airport.
