Surface Protection and Corrosion Management 

3M Aerospace’s revolutionary range of polyurethane protection tapes are ideal at preventing abrasion and corrosion across the aircraft, especially on high risk areas such as the fuselage belly and leading edges. Tapes such as 8681HS conform to the curves of the airframe and are easily repairable in overhaul operations using the 3M Scotch-Weld Repair Paste 2110. These tapes can also be supplied as preformed shapes, ideal for protecting nose radomes and aircraft fairings on a variety of aircraft.

Fuel Tank, Fuselage and Speciality Sealants  

A complete aircraft sealing solution from key brands PPG, 3M Aerospace and Naftoseal covering fuel tank, fuselage and speciality application areas such as window canopies. These products carry a variety of approvals from the likes of Airbus, Boeing and Bombardier, with chromate free and weight saving options available.

Greases and Hydraulic Fluids

Via our key partners, Silmid boast a wide range of stock of general purpose and speciality greases and hydraulic fluids for all airframe applications. These include the AeroShell Grease 33, an Airbus and Boeing AMM registered universal airframe grease, or the Skydrol PE-5 Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid, carrying Boeing, Airbus and Bombardier approvals.

Surface Preparation

Solvent and water based cleaners and surface treatments recommended as part of any sealing, bonding or painting process. These include Socomore pre-saturated wipes, 3M Scotch-Weld AC-130-2 water based pre-bonding treatment and a range of primers and adhesion promoters for silicones, sealants and coatings.
