It is highly versatile and can be used in a range of applications in the electrical and chemical industries, and as an anti-tracking, anti-arcing coating, it will protect electrical systems. It can also be used as a multipurpose lubricating agent. It has an effective service temperature that ranges between -55°C (360-°F) to +200°C (+360°F), which continues to function at intermittent excursions up to +220°C (+396°F). It is insoluble in water, alcohol, diluted acids and alkalis while also being taste-free, odourless and non-toxic.
