Product Information

Often referred to as a "wick-in" or "penetrating" threadlocker, Loctite 290 is unique because it can be applied after assembly. Its low viscosity formula allows it to penetrate threads by capillary action. This makes it ideal for securing bolts, nuts, and fasteners that are already in place but may need added security against loosening, due to vibration. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces. The product can also fill porosity in welds, castings and powdered metal parts.

  • Works on metal only Proven to be tolerant of minor contamination due to industrial oils, e.g. engine oils, corrosion prevention oils and cutting fluids
