Pasa-Jell 101 is designed to clean and passivate stainless steel that has started to corrode. It is convenient to use in field passivations because stainless steel equipment can be passivated without disassembling.
Pasa-Jell 101 accomplishes the passivation of stainless steel by removing foreign materials and corrosion products that could set up local cells and cause pitting corrosion, and by forming an extremely thin but corrosion-resistant adherent oxide film on the metal.
Pasa-Jell 101 can also be used to remove anodised coatings from aluminium.
Its consistency is such that it can be used for soft stripping of anodised coatings, thus eliminating the need to mask areas to be welded when large aluminium sheets are to be anodised.
