Specifically developed for the safe and easy removal of cable gels and blocking compounds from copper and fibre optic communication cables without removing ID inks, it removes dirt, grime, grease, tar, oil, wax, resin and gum from cables, tools, painted surfaces and equipment. It cleans without leaving a sticky residue.
This product is an effective substitute for aggressive chlorinated solvents, mineral spirits or kerosene. It has no deleterious effects on cables, splice materials or tools, and increases cable life by reducing splicing features and moisture permeation. It can be used safely with semi-conductive cable under normal cleaning circumstances and is equally effective with both copper and fibre optic cables.
It may be used as a cable cleaning solvent for cable splicing operations, and can remove cable gels from filled cables and tools without damaging the conductors or associated equipment. It is recommended for fibre optic ribbon matrix cleaning, and is suitable for all cable installation and maintenance functions in telecommunications. It can also act as a degreasing solvent for cables, tools and equipment.
The use of pre-saturated wipes provides advantages to the user compared to using loose solvent with cloths, such as the standardisation of cleaning and preparation operations, improving quality and production line performance, lowering the quantity of product used, and reducing waste, VOCs and the quantity of solvent released into the atmosphere. There is no risk of accidental spillage of drums full of flammable liquids.
