SkyKleen 2000 is a new-generation aviation solvent that delivers excellent cleaning performance while being environmentally friendly. It can be used for a variety of applications, including adhesive and epoxy removal, carbon epoxy composite surface cleaning, carbon removal from brake and piston housings, degreasing, and engine cleaning. For best results, perform a final clean with a plastic (phenolic) scraper and follow with a quick wipe down using SkyKleen 1000 to remove any remaining gel residue, allowing the surface to dry thoroughly before painting or applying sealant.
This product replaces many common solvents and cleaners, such as MEK, Acetone, Isopropyl alcohol, Freon, 1-1-1 Trichloroethane, Caustic Cleaners, Stoddard Solvent, Mineral Spirits, and D-limonene-based citrus cleaners, whose continued use is being challenged due to environmental or safety concerns. Note that procedures and effectiveness may not exactly duplicate the product it replaces for specific applications.
