Discontinuation of AeroShell Fluid 602, Fluid 2XN and Fluid 5M-A
Our supply partner AeroShell have advised us of three products they will no longer be manufacturing due to a reduction in demand. Some stock still remains of these products within our supply chain, but once this stock has been exhausted, no further batches will be produced.
AeroShell Fluid 602 – a synthetic hydrocarbon coolant fluid for aircraft electronics, approved to MIL-PRF-87252E and NATO Code S-1748.
AeroShell Fluid 2XN – a corrosion inhibited mineral oil for aircraft engine preservation, approved to MIL-C-6529C Type I, Joint Services Designation ZX-21 and NATO Code C-608.
AeroShell Fluid 5M-A – a highly refined, medium viscosity mineral oil containing an extreme pressure additive as well as additives to provide good oxidation and corrosion protection. This product is approved to MIL-PRF-6086F Medium Grade and DEF STAN 91-112 Grade M as well as Joint Services Designation OEP-70 and NATO Code O-155.
While there are no alternatives to these fluids from the current AeroShell portfolio, Silmid have been able to identify products approved to the same specifications that may prove to be a possible alternative upon customer review:
