Upgrade of Loctite Instant Adhesives, Activators & Primers

As a key player in the adhesives market, Henkel Loctite are continuing to develop new and existing products to meet the growing demands of customers worldwide. We are pleased to introduce a line of instant adhesives, primers and activators formulated with more globally acceptable raw materials, which combines upgraded formulations with the high-quality and reliability synonymous with the Loctite brand.

Introducing Loctite 402

Loctite 402 is an instant adhesive that provides rapid bonding of a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics and elastomers.

  • INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY. Develops handling strength 2x faster on most substrates and is easily automated.
  • IMPROVE RELIABILITY. Takes the heat with heat-aging resistance up to 135°C.
  • SIMPLIFY DESIGN. Provides high-bond strength to a wide range of materials including hard-to-bond substrates.
  • ENHANCE SAFETY. Unique, patented formula with reduced hazardous ingredients

Loctite 402 is currently available in a 20gm and 500gm Bottle.

Instant Adhesive Upgrades

The above listed cyanoacrylate adhesives will be formulated without adding Hydroquinone (HQ). In addition, Loctite 454, Loctite 3090 and Loctite 3092 will also be formulated without adding 2,2'-Methylenebis(4-methyl-6-tert-butylphenol) (MMBP). These raw materials function as shelf-life stabilizers and represent a small percentage of the products’ overall formulations.

Significant investment has been made in reformulating these products with more globally acceptable raw materials, and the formulation upgrades have been thoroughly tested by Henkel.
The performance properties and shelf lives of the products remain consistent with existing Henkel Quality Specifications.

The new formulations have been implemented on a running basis with no changes to the product names, part numbers, or Technical Data Sheets (TDS).

Primer and Activator Upgrades

In addition to the changes to the previously mentioned adhesives, Henkel are also upgrading the formulations of the above primers and activators with more globally acceptable raw materials. Again, the performance properties and shelf lives of the products remain consistent with existing Henkel Quality Specifications.
As this change affects a significant proportion of the formulation, new labelling, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Technical Data Sheets (TDS) have been made available.
