The AFS specification attached to 3M SCOTCHWELD EC847 will become obsolete as of June 2012
3M have just made us aware of general developments with qualifying material to AFS specification. Due to necessary changes in conducting peel tests on S/W 847 and S/W1099, they will be unable to release these materials to the respective AFS specification from June 2012 onwards.
They need to change the test method and unfortunately there isn’t anyone within the MOD to approve these and as a consequence, they have no choice but to make the specifications obsolete once current material depletes. The AFS specification will remain active until then.
